How We Vet the Remodelers We Refer
Denver Custom Bathrooms is a referral service — we connect Denver homeowners with licensed local bathroom remodelers. We don't hold a contractor license, employ crews, or do any of the work. Here's how we choose who we work with.
What This Site Is
When you submit a request on this site, we forward your information to a licensed Denver-area remodeler who matches your scope and budget range. That contractor contacts you directly. We earn a referral fee when the connection is made — we have no part in pricing, scheduling, or the work itself.
Bathroom remodeling has a higher rate of contractor problems than most home services — unlicensed work, scope creep, abandoned jobs. We exist to help homeowners get connected with vetted local pros before that happens.
Our Vetting Criteria
We don't refer every remodeler who contacts us. These are the minimum standards a pro has to meet before we'll pass along a homeowner's information.
Colorado contractor license
Bathroom remodels involve structural, plumbing, and electrical work. We require the general contractor we refer to hold a current Colorado license or operate under a licensed qualifier. Unlicensed GCs are not in our network.
Licensed subcontractors for plumbing and electrical
If tile and carpentry can be handled by an experienced remodeler, plumbing rough-in and electrical work cannot — those require licensed subs in Colorado. We verify that the GC uses licensed subcontractors for all licensed trade work.
General liability insurance ($1M minimum)
A bathroom remodel involves demo, tile, waterproofing, and fixture installation across several days. Adequate liability coverage protects you if something goes wrong during the project — we require it before any referral.
Workers' compensation coverage
Crews working in your home should carry workers' comp. An uninsured worker injured on your property can expose you to significant legal risk. We require current workers' comp for all referred contractors.
Portfolio of completed work
Bathroom remodeling is visual and detail-intensive. We look for contractors with verifiable project photos and references — not just promises. A contractor without completed work they're willing to show you is a contractor we won't refer.
Written contract and scope before work begins
Every pro we refer commits to a written contract that covers scope, timeline, materials, and cost before work begins. No handshake deals, no scope creep surprises mid-project.
What We Don't Do
- ✗We don't hold a Colorado contractor license or employ remodeling crews.
- ✗We don't set the project price, negotiate contracts, or mark up materials.
- ✗We don't share your information with multiple contractors or home improvement lead marketplaces.
- ✗We don't guarantee project outcomes — the licensed remodeler you're connected with is solely responsible for the work.
